I
Interior Preparation
Wall Prep
We spackle all nail holes no longer needed . We repair all cracks in sheetrock or plaster (although this is an extra charge and will be offered at time of estimate if needed.)
Sand All Walls
This is not done to help the paint to adhere to walls, but to knock off little bumps left by the last paint job and to provide a smooth surface for the new paint. (smooth walls only)
Wood Prep
All painted wood surfaces will be lightly sanded to prepare the surface for new paint. This is what makes the new paint adhere to the old and gives it a smooth finish. We caulk all cracks in wood, windows, and door jams, baseboards and crown mold. This is done not only for an attractive appearance but also to help seal
the wood.
Primers
All new wood, sheetrock repairs, water stains, grease spots, crayon marks and peeling paint that has been sanded down to the bare wood will be painted with the appropriate primer.
Painting Your Home
Labor is the most expensive part of your job. Paint is the least expensive part, so using the very best paint and primers actually saves us time and you money. The best paint applies easier, the finish looks better, lasts longer and our customers are happier
with the results.
Professional Workmanship
We show up on time every morning at a time that's agreed upon. Typically we work from 8:30 am. To 5:00 p.m. Once we start your job we stay there until it's finished, weather permitting. The beginning of each day
we put a drop cloth down to set all tools to be used that day. At the end of the day we pick up all tools. Throw away all trash. Making sure all work areas are clean
Touch Up Paint
Before we finish your home we will label each kind of paint that was used, where it was used and leave
them with you for any future touch up.

Exterior Preparation
Power wash exterior
Power washing is not done to knock off loose paint, but is required to
remove mildew and clean the surfaces so that the new coat of paint will
adhere to your home. Typically, power washing is done first, but if your
home requires extensive sanding, the power washing will be done after the
sanding.
Caulk
Caulking of all cracks is done not only for attractive appearance purposes
but also for efficient fuel use. The heating and cooling units in your home will
cost less as a direct result of proper sealing of cracks. Caulking seals the
wood so no moisture can penetrate. Because the wood is sealed your paint
will last longer.
Re-Glazing Windows
Most homes have wooden windows. Glazing is the compound that holds the
window pane in place. We remove the loose, dry, brittle glazing that falls out
easily and also remove all of the bad glazing that will cause problems later.
We then re-glaze all of the windows where necessary.
Peeling Paint
Most painters only scrape loose paint with a putty knife. The problem with
this method is the scraping leaves an edge. The more times the house has
been painted the bigger the edge. This will only work on a job that is done to
last a year or under. Weather elements get under these edges and causes the
paint to pop loose. We use electric sanders to sand loose paint spots. We
use two different grits of sand paper. The rough paper is for getting the bulk
of the loose paint off of the surface. A finer sand paper is used to smooth the
surface.
Primers
After we sand the peeling paint, we prime these surfaces to finish the sealing
process. The primers are more expensive than the paint and are generally not
needed on the entire house. Primer is used on sanded surfaces, rusted nails
and unfinished wood.

part, so using the very best paint and primers actually saves us time and you

Cleaning Windows (exterior only)
We clean your windows for two reasons. First, after your windows have
been re-glazed the manufacturer recommends getting approximately 1/4 inch
of paint on glass to seal the new glazing. But then that leaves paint on all your
windows. So that's why we clean your windows to remove the paint. And
the second reason, nothing looks better on a newly painted home than
freshly cleaned windows.
